Rescuing the Rescuer - Mayday Fundraiser
Order Cutoff: September 13th
While we are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of First Responders and their families, we can not do it alone. We need your help! So, we invite you to come on out to our upcoming "Rescuing The Rescuer" event/walk.
Rescuing The Rescuer originally began as a 150 mile walk to help raise mental health awareness and prevent First Responder suicide. Since then, it has grown and will now be held in conjunction with a Dek Hockey tournament hosted by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Goals Foundation on September 21st & 22nd, at the Toyota SportsPlex in Wilkes-Barre, PA. During this event there will be live music, games, contests, raffles, food, safety demonstrations, and more.
Saturday, September 21st will consist of an Adult Division and First Responder Division Dek Hockey Tournament and Sunday, September 22nd will consist of a Youth Division Dek Hockey Tournament. While both days will have other activities, entertainment, and food/beverages available on site, Sunday will be more of a "family oriented" day. In addition to a continuation of Saturday's entertainment and festivities, there will be additional activities such as face painting, emergency vehicle showings, fun with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguin's mascot,Tux, a visit from Miss Pennsylvania Teen, Emily Fancher, and more.
First Responders are there for us in our times of need, now it's our turn to be there for them! So, make sure to mark your calander and stop on by to take part in a fun filled weekend as we gather together to support our First Responders and their families, as well as the communities in which they live and serve.
